My Imagination Sometimes Gets Confused

My imagination is a busy thing and it gets confused sometimes. Like right now.Are you familiar with that “imagination” thing that happens when you read a book? Like how the words on the page unfold into a scene in your mind’s eye; people have unique faces that are difficult to describe, landscapes appear, houses, trees, clothing, animals, textures, etc.

That same thing also happens to me when I listen to an audiobook or Podcast. And I listen to a lot of audiobooks and Podcasts, just ask my wife.

Over the past couple of months I’ve been going through a spree of books about American history. Currently, I’m balancing Killing England by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard with Star Wars: Kenobi by John Jackson Miller and The Force Awakens audiobook, which I just started today. And I’ve been watching a few 1800-1900’s-era programs on Netflix and Amazon.

Here is my conundrum: I have this old battle scene in my head, but I’m not sure what it’s from. It isn’t anything impressive, just a scene I half remember where these two groups of people are walking into an open field from a wooded area to commence battle with muskets and bayonets and horses for some reason or other. And a pre-Presidential George Washington is there.

I just can’t seem to figure out where I remember it from. I don’t remember if I came up with it in my imagination while reading/listening to one of these books, or if it is something I actually saw from one of the Netflix/Amazon programs.

This isn’t the first time I’ve had this issue, either. Last time it happened, I was in Walmart. I was just doing my usual arrive-and-leave-as-soon-as-possible-to-avoid-people routine when I was suddenly hit with a proposal and dialogue scene between a tall guy and a blonde woman that took place on a balcony.

It took forever to figure it out, this scene plagued me for about a week, but I finally remembered what it was. It was one of Chuck’s proposal attempts to Sarah in the hit TV show Chuck. This was the one on a balcony while they were on a mission in season 4 episode 11.

Anyway, this “imagination scene” confusion thing is something I have on occasion. Now if I can just remember what this battle scene is from…

P.S. For your visual enjoyment, I have attached the Chuck and Sarah proposal. Spoiler: Chuck proposes to Sarah later on in the series. Surprise!
